We’re pleased to announce the launch of Karmafan on Facebook. With 70 million users worldwide, Facebook is a great way for artists to gather support from fans. Facebook also automatically spreads the word to your friends when you give support.

If you’re already on Facebook you can add the Karmafan application to show your friends which artists or sites you have supported. Now you can support or invite artists and sites without leaving Facebook - each time telling your friends who you have supported with Karmafan’s Facebook news feeds.

Even if you aren’t on Facebook you already have a Karmafan page on Facebook at http://apps.facebook.com/karmafan/fans/profile?name=anonymous

We have released our widget as a Wordpress plugin. A sample is shown on the main page of this blog - just there on the right

The plugin has all the regular features from the widget

1. anonymous one time payments using PayPal or SMS
2. Login to support from your Karmafan account
3. List of fans who have most recently supported the blogger or artist

All you need to do is install the plugin in your wp-content/plugins folder and provide your email address or Karmafan username (if you are already registered) to get the Karmafan widget on your blog.

If you are a new user the plugin auto-magically signs you up and sends you your Karmafan password via email.

Of course the Ajax widget still works for blogger as it did earlier. All you have to do is add a site to your Karmafan account, copy some codes we give you into blogger under Settings -> Template -> Edit HTML section.

Just a quick post about a few changes and upgrades we’ve made over the last few days.

ONE-TIME SUPPORT
Fans can now give an artist a single voluntary payment without topping up or joining Karmafan. Their support is anonymous but it’s the quickest way to send support.

VERIFICATION OF PROFILES ON SHOWCASEYOURMUSIC.COM
A lot of artists who use showcaseyourmusic.com have asked us about getting support through Karmafan. We’ve updated our verification process to include showcaseyourmusic.com and we’re adding more sites all the time. If you would like us to include a particular music showcase site you use to promote or distribute your work, e-mail us at support@karmafan.com

NON-FLASH WIDGET
For anyone who prefers not to use Flash, we now have a DHTML/AJAX widget available. This will not work on MySpace, as they don’t allow DHTML widgets, but of course the Flash widget will continue to work as normal on MySpace profiles and any other site. Both types of widget are shown on the right.
